The heart of worship is the pursuit of closeness to Allah: recognising Him as the ultimate source of all help, guidance, and mercy, while seeking His nearness in the ways He has taught us. Throughout Islamic history, scholars have discussed important questions surrounding how believers seek Allah’s closeness, including the role of created means, the permissibility of supplicating through intermediaries, and the boundaries that preserve the beauty and purity of Tawḥīd.

We will explore:

Quranic principles of Tawḥīd and how they govern our relationship with Allah as the One who possesses ultimate power, authority, and control.

A rooted and balanced framework for understanding the concepts of Tawassul (seeking via a means) and Istighātha (seeking help from creation)

The significance of embracing blessed means in the spiritual life of the believer

A grounded framework for engaging with important theological questions with clarity, knowledge, and spiritual awareness
